Mako PKA BioSkills Training Course

An interactive course with dedicated surgeon to explore patient selection, best practices with robotic arm assisted surgical techniques.

Overview

This course will feature interactive learning sessions with dedicated surgeon to explore patient selection, best practices with robotic arm assisted surgical techniques. Surgical skills sessions will offer hands-on training for participants in cadaveric specimens guided by experienced surgeon faculty who will discuss their techniques and tips.

Who should attend?

This course is intended for practicing consultant orthopaedic surgeons with access to a Mako System who are interested in learning the techniques to perform Stryker’s Robotic-Arm Assisted Partial Knee Arthroplasty.

Program

Australian School of Advanced Medicine

The Australian School of Advanced Medicine is the first school of its kind to offer sub-specialty, post-fellowship training in a private teaching hospital on a university campus.

The school provides an innovative competency-based education program featuring "hands-on learning" for surgeons and physicians. They have a new facility located in the Macquarie University Clinic building which includes a state of the art surgical skills anatomy laboratory centre and simulation centre with sophisticated audio-visual equipment.

Course Outcomes

These courses incorporate advanced training techniques designed to fully immerse the attendee in a unique, small-group learning environment led by internationally renowned surgeon faculty. Participants will work closely with their assigned faculty and peers throughout the day to:

  • discover solutions to clinical issues;
  • learn the safe and effective use of Stryker products; and
  • forge new paths to help navigate the current healthcare environment.
